Originally a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist working with a wide range of problems, I now specialise exclusively in Smoking Cessation - partly because as an ex-smoker myself, it's what I'm best at, and partly because I just love doing it!

I divide my time between seeing smokers one-to-one, helping businesses to go smoke-free and training other therapists in smoking cessation. I also run an internet mail order business, www.smokersstopshop.co.uk, which sells the widest range of smoking cessation aids available in the UK.

Hobbies - when I have time for them - include painting, fossil hunting and writing (usually about smoking!)

Training and qualifications

I trained in Hypnosis and Pyschotherapy and Advanced Hypnosis at the National School of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy (N-SHAP) at Regent's College, London. (N-SHAP is a training and registering member organisation of the UKCP).

Since qualifying I have undergone further training with some of the greatest names in Hypnosis and Psychotherapy, including Ernest Rossi, Ormand McGill, William O'Hanlon and Michael Yapko.

NHS Smoking Cessation Counsellor

I hold the most advanced NHS Smoking Cessation qualification, for which I trained with Peter Hajek of the famous London Maudsley Hospital Smoking Clinic.

Association of Smoking Cessation Professionals

I am the founder of the Association of Smoking Cessation Professionals, the overall aim of which is to define and promote standards for ethical practice among smoking cessation practitioners, and to provide a voice for all drug-free smoking cessation methods and products.

National Council for Hypnotherapy

I am a member and former Director of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH). The NCH demands the highest standards of all its members and strict adherance to their code of ethics, as well as full professional indemnity insurance. I also continue with on-going training and regular peer supervision.

I was voted NCH "Hypnotic Voice of the Year" 2002.
